The purpose of this program is to prepare youth (Ages 14-18) for leadership roles via education and hands-on experiences in civic engagement, community service, institutional systems, social justice, centered activism, community outreach, and innovative problem solving of complex issues.

The Civic Internship Cohort began in the summer of 2016. The internship consists predominately of classes and guest speakers. By the end of the internship, each cohort is tasked with planning a community event. Interns are also brought on field trips, a highlighted trip was visiting the National Museum of African American History and Culture.
